At the very beginning of my career, I really struggled to explain to my grandparents (and honestly, even my parents) what I was doing all day behind my laptop. Years passed… I had barely won that battle when I found myself, once again, facing confused looks after answering the same question: “So… what is Sirah?”

Here’s the simple version.

Sirah Africa is, quite simply, a sustainable marketing and communication agency. Our vision is clear: we believe marketing and communication can be more effective tools for the economy, society, and the environment. We believe marketing can do better. So no, we’re not a digital agency trying to greenify its services, and definitely not here to make you feel better about greenwashing. Sustainability has a real place in marketing and communication, and we’re here to prove it.

The birth of Sirah

Have you ever watched an ad on TV or even just a random video mid-scroll and felt… uncomfortable? Yeah. Same. That feeling is exactly where Sirah comes from. We started to notice that campaigns were losing their meaning. Brands, in their rush to sell more and produce more, were drifting away from their core values, forgetting their role as active members of society. That disconnect began to show in their relationships with their audiences and stakeholders. For others, the gap came from a clumsy attempt to adopt sustainability, changing the visuals and the messaging, but without the internal culture or operations to support it. That discomfort we felt? It turned into a conviction: do better.

So… what does that actually mean?

Nice words, but what do we do? We support brands, NGOs, collectives, and institutions in building marketing and communication that actually respond to today’s realities. It starts with an audit, understanding your marketing or communication challenges, and identifying where more responsible solutions can exist. Then we build and apply those solutions. That can mean brand strategy, visual design, or different forms of content creation. Our operations are based in Mauritius, east of Madagascar, in the heart of the Mascarene Islands, with a pan-African vision and an openness to both French-speaking and English-speaking Europe. Because we believe the best stories from this continent should be told by the people who live it.
